Take the excellent PTS PTS CAR-15 N23 AEG, fit real steel Bulgarian AK Wood Furniture, hollow out the stock to take stick lipos and wire to deans. The original N23 was conceived and built by Dave Merrill, a well-known firearms expert and writer, who was inspired by an image of a truncated cutaway schematic of the AR15 that was filed in Colts original patent.
The N23 combines a very retro-vintadavesge appearance with the latest in airsoft technology. The retro appearance starts with the vintage style Model 607" style receiver with a fixed carry handle and no forward assist. Complementing it is a uniquely shortened CAR-15 style narrow handguards and a custom shortened XM177 style buttstock on a custom shortened buffer tube. The result is an ultra-compact AEG that looks vintage and authentic but has an almost toy-like quality due to its exaggeratedly shrunken proportions.
The N23 is a unique and limited production offering for the airsoft player and collector that is also practical for field use.
While the traditional version 2 gearbox has for the most part remained unchanged since its inceptions, small changes have occurred over time, usually as the result of popular user modifications that were then made into factory available options. With input from players and vendors, G&P has released their newest iteration of the Version 2 Gearbox, the G&P i5. While internally like their tried and true V2 gearbox, the i5 comes from the factory with a plethora of upgraded components. The i5 is powered by an M140 motor and features 8mm bearings for more robust performance and reliability. The top-down QD spring guide makes spring changes far easier, requiring only the removal of the upper receiver. Also included is an inline MOSFET with electronic trigger and Electronic selector, eliminating sensitive trigger switches and selector plates. The i5 gearbox takes the traditional V2 gearbox and makes it more reliable, robust and user friendly, without sacrificing the performance that players have come to expect from G&P.
