The Russians being the Russians, like to do things a little bit differently to the rest of the firearms community, the SVD Side scope mount system is no exception to this, and is partially due to the top cover design of SVD Series Rifles.

This bracket slides and locks into place on your side scope bracket providing 15cm of 20mm Picatinny Rail Space for the attachment of scopes and accessories.
