The Mutant series is the latest in the Amoeba line up and features a newly designed upper and lower receiver set made of polymer. These rifles are strong and lightweight. The upper section of the rifle is railed in 20mm and has integrated flip up front and rear iron sights which can be folded down when not in use. The rifle has an M-LOK rail with 20mm upper and QD sling points on either side. As with other Ares rifles this rifle has a 14mm CW muzzle for the attachment of suppressors, tracers and flash hiders. 

This rifle has a newly designed M4 multi position stock which blends seamlessly with the receiver when in the fully inwards position. The battery of this rifle goes in the stock tube. Access to the hop-up system adjustment is obtained by pulling the cocking handle back and revealing the shell ejector port.  The Mutant has a modular front grip unit, which allows the replica to be fully adapted to the individual needs depending on requirements. Ares Amoeba Airsoft rifles have quick change spring gearboxes for quick and easy fps changes. The amoeba gearbox has an integrated EFCS - Electronic Firing Control System module, this controls the trigger assembly, providing smooth action and snappy trigger response, this also helps to increase the life of the gearbox. 

The EFCS also has a built-in MOSFET unit which can be programmed via the Ares Amoeba programmer unit which is sold seperately, this allows you to lock the rifle to semi only or to set burst mode as an example.  This rifle is supplied with a single polymer 140 rnd magazine.
